William Dwight Mickelson

Vacaville, California

William Dwight Mickelson, 88, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, in Vacaville, California.

He was born in Logan, Utah, to William Earl and Alvaretta Hidvie Anderson Mickelson and was the fourth of five children. After graduating from Logan High School in 1955, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Dwight earned degrees from Utah State University in Audiology and Speech Pathology, where he met and married Ruth Vanderbeek. They were married in June of 1968 in Logan Utah and later solemnized their marriage in the Oakland Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They raised their four sons in Vacaville, California, where Dwight worked for 31 years as a speech-language therapist.

He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons Brian (Janese), Jon (Dominique), Steven (Mindy), and David (Alena); 15 grandchildren; and his sister Marlene Lindley. He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, and beautiful granddaughter Ava Marie Mickelson.

Funeral services were held July 23 in Vacaville. A graveside service will be held August 16 in Logan, Utah.
