William J Forman

September 29, 1950 — February 5, 2026

Logan, Utah

William “Bill” John Forman was born on September 29, 1950, in Murray, Utah, to Ernest Calvin Forman and Maurine Forman. On Thursday, February 5, 2026, after a brief illness, he passed away at Logan Regional Hospital, surrounded by the family who loved him so deeply.

Bill was the eldest of five children — a big brother to Dennis, Robert, Jay, and Lynette. From the beginning, he carried a quiet steadiness that shaped the way he moved through the world.

He graduated from Bingham High School in 1969 and later earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from Utah State University in 1975. In high school he wrestled and played football, but his truest joy was always found outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, ride his bicycle, and spend time anywhere the air was fresh and the sky felt wide.

Some of his happiest moments were simple ones — taking his grandchildren fishing, sharing picnics at First or Second Dam, watching the people he loved enjoy the places he cherished. He was an artist with a gentle eye and a patient hand. His paintings won awards at both the Cache County Fair and the Utah State Fair, but what mattered most to him was the act of creating. He took his grandchildren into the mountains to teach them how to paint, and he kept every piece they made. He kept everything that held meaning.

Bill shared countless adventures with his cousin Glenn Forman and his best friend Glen Dansie. Together, the three of them spent summers hiking to the top of Mount Timpanogos — chasing views, laughter, and the kind of memories that stay bright even as years pass.

In 1975, Bill met Judy Gilhespie in a cowboy bar in Midvale, Utah, where some of his paintings hung on the walls. A year later, they crossed paths there again, and this time their lives intertwined for good. They married on July 21, 1979, and were later sealed in the temple on July 23, 2005. Judy passed away on June 26, 2006, leaving a tender space in his heart that he carried with him.

Bill later found companionship and love again with Beatrice Smith. They married on January 16, 2016, and were sealed in May of 2018. She brought warmth and steadiness to his later years, and he cherished the life they shared.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Cal and Maurine Forman; his brother Jay; and his beloved wife Judy. He is survived by his three children — David (Tammy), Christine, and Virginia — as well as eight grandchildren: Rachel, Mateo, Mikayla, Ariel, Hailey, Galilaya

(Angel) Ariah, and Anna. He also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren, each one a bright continuation of his legacy.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Logan Regional Hospital, McKay-Dee Hospital, and the Rocky Mountain Care facility for their kindness and care.
