Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, and best friend to all, Wesley Gene Hoth, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026, surrounded by so many people he loved deeply.

Wes overcame many health challenges throughout his life, beginning with hydrocephalus in childhood and continuing into young adulthood. These trials taught him patience, perseverance, and an unstoppable determination to survive, all while helping shape his delightfully offbeat sense of humor. Although his lifelong health challenges were never easy for him or those who loved him, one of his greatest joys was being a stay-at-home dad to his adventurous, smart, talented, and brilliant daughters, Haven and Berlin, whom he shared with Callie. He loved his girls with every fiber of his soul, and there wasn’t a being alive who didn’t know it.

Born on July 6, 1970, in Logan, Utah, Wes grew up in North Logan. After high school, he faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Des Moines, Iowa. Throughout his life and endless medical trials, Wes maintained a profound testimony and a deep love for the Savior. He found constant comfort, strength, and joy in his faith and in frequent temple attendance.

To Wes, there was simply no such thing as a stranger—only a future friend who hadn’t realized it yet. He had an extraordinary gift for making genuine connections with anyone, always ready with a witty joke up his sleeve and an infectious grin. He made people feel welcome, remembered, and loved, often turning an ordinary encounter into a friendship and an ordinary day into a story worth telling.

Wes could personally name every buck in Cache Valley, due to his strong love for the outdoors. He met countless lifelong friends on mountains, hillsides, and city streets while collecting sheds and snapping photos. He also loved fishing, a passion he learned from his Dad. Whether he was on the water or sharing stories afterward, Wes was always ready to hook you with a colorful tall tale or a hilarious account that would leave you doubled over with laughter.

When he wasn’t on the mountain, he was bleeding Aggie blue. You simply couldn’t find a bigger Utah State University superfan. Wes especially lived for football season, spending countless nights cheering beneath the stadium lights or passionately breaking down games at home with his family. His enthusiasm for the Aggies was every bit as big as his personality.

Wesley leaves behind his beloved wife, Eunice, who renewed his love of life and brought him hope during some of his hardest challenges. She met his wit with a perfectly timed comeback and always kept him on his toes. Their relationship brought laughter, companionship, and renewed joy into his life, and her love was a precious gift during his most difficult days.

He is also survived by his cherished daughters, Berlin (Dustin) and Haven; his loving parents, Valden and Ann Hoth; and his siblings, Barbara Hoth, Travis (Joni) Hoth, Mandy (Lance) Gittins, and Crystal (Chase) Morrell. He leaves behind a legion of adoring nieces and nephews who always knew just how much Uncle Wes loved them, along with a massive extended family and countless friends who held him “DEER”.

Wes’s life was marked by extraordinary resilience, unwavering faith, boundless humor, and a remarkable ability to make everyone he met feel like a friend. His stories, his laughter, his love of the outdoors, his devotion to his family, and his unmistakable Aggie spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though his earthly journey has ended, the friendships he forged, the lives he touched, and the love he gave so freely will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026 at 12:00 PM at the LDS church located at 1255 N. 600 E. in Logan, Utah.  A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at the White Pine Funeral Home, 753 S. 100 E. in Logan and from 10:00-11:30 AM at the church prior to the funeral on Friday.  Interment will be in the North Logan City Cemetery.
