Sheryl D. George Anderson passed away on August 11, 2026. She was 81.

She was born November 8, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, the first of two children of Adele Norr and Robert Armstrong George.

She grew up in Huntington Beach, California, and spent many happy summers and Christmases with her Norr grandparents in Brigham City, Utah. She loved visiting her cousin Tam nearby at her Aunt June and Uncle Wayne Holmgren’s farm in Tremonton, where she gathered eggs and swam in the pond in front of their home in the summers and ice skated on the pond in winters.

She attended schools in Los Angeles and Ontario, California, and graduated from high school in 1962.

After graduation, determined to attend college, she worked and saved money to attend Brigham Young University, where she studied for a degree in English literature.

She later moved to Salt Lake City to work for Beneficial Life Insurance company and met her husband, Gary N. Anderson, at the University of Utah in an LDS student ward.

They married on January 19, 1973, in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived in Salt Lake City, Utah; Indianapolis, Indiana; Logan, Utah; and had five children.

They also lived in St Petersburg, Russia, where they served as mission leaders from 1996 - 98.

She valued her education and spoke often of the importance of lifelong learning. She graduated from Utah State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in English literature, in 2008. She loved reading books and belonging to a book club with her husband and her friends.

She was active in the Parent Teacher Association at her children’s schools.

She loved singing in choirs and sharing the music of the Beach Boys, the Beatles, John Denver, Anne Murray, the Carpenters and Neil Diamond with her children.

She was a talented seamstress, who sewed beautiful clothing for her children. She also loved quilting and cross-stitch.

She was a dedicated follower of the gospel of Jesus Christ and served in many stake and ward callings.

Her greatest accomplishment was her family. She created a loving and stable home, where her children felt safe, encouraged and supported by their parents. She adored her grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them.

She is survived by her husband, Gary N. Anderson; her children, Therese Anderson Grinceri (Alan); Erik Anderson (Debbi); Clint Anderson; Janelle Orr (Dan); five granddaughters and six grandsons; her sisters Nora Del Murdock; Sally George; and Liz Cuevas. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sarah Anderson, and her brother, Robert Henrie.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11am at the LDS chapel on 1260 North 1600 East in Logan, Utah. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 - 10:30am. A visitation will be held Sunday, August 16, from 5-7 pm at the LDS chapel on 1260 North 1600 East in Logan, Utah. Interment will be at the Logan City Cemetery.
