Sherrie Mae Wagner died peacefully on Monday, July 29, at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray.
She was born in Provo on March 4, 1935, to Mary Ellen (Mae) and Robert Morris Gordon, the second of the family’s three children. She married Robert Frederick Wagner on December 11, 1954, and they lived in California, New York, Kansas, and Minnesota through Bob’s work for IBM. They were the parents of two sons, Rodd Wagner (Minneapolis) and Mark Wagner (Wanship, Utah).
Her husband died in 1979, after which Sherrie worked as director of volunteers at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. For many years later in life, she lived in Logan, Utah.
In addition to her sons, she is survived by her brother, Robert Gordon (Great Falls, Virginia), and sister, Trudy Rindlisbaker (Preston, Idaho); grandchildren Chelsie Burgess (Murray, Utah), Kylee Jacobsen (Bountiful, Utah), Mackenzie Wagner (Salt Lake City), Noelle Foutz (Grand Rapids, Minnesota), Rodd Parks Wagner (Minneapolis), Charles Wagner (Salt Lake City), Kayla Poston (Jupiter, Florida); and three great-grandchildren.
She was a true friend to everyone she met throughout her life. She will be deeply missed.
Her life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, at White Pine Funeral Home, 753 S. 100 East, in Logan, Utah. Those attending are encouraged to wear blue, her favorite color. A visitation will be held prior to the celebration of life from noon to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. A private graveside service was previously held at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester, Minnesota.
