Ruth Anna Schmidt Pendleton, 86, of Providence Utah passed away in Hyrum, Utah on June 3, 2026.
She was born in Logan, Utah, March 31, 1940 to Willy Alfred Schmidt and Martha Schadly. She attended Adams school and Logan High School. She was a seminary graduate also. She married Samuel B Pendleton, of St George, in the Logan Temple on June 19th, 1959.
During her life, she was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Primary President and worked in the Logan Temple for many years. Following the death of her husband Sam, she graduated from Bridgerland Technical College and went on to work for a local bank.
She was an accomplished baker and decorated many cakes for birthdays and other occasions.
Her children remember her ambitious baking sessions where dozens of cookies were made. The neighborhood kids were well aware of the baking sessions, often sending her kids back into the house for more cookies.
Her parents encouraged her to learn to sew, which she studied in school. As a seamstress, she burned the midnight oil and finished many projects in the wee hours of the morning of the day it was needed. She never passed on the opportunity to acquire more craft supplies. She held herself to a high standard of work, and required of herself and her children that extra effort to do a best job possible.
She was devoted to her family. She cared for her parents and her older brother Reuben in their later years. She nurtured her your young family and taught many detailed lessons that they still carry with them. She then worried infinitely over her children.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Willy and Martha, her husband, Samuel B Pendleton, and two brothers, Herbert Willy and Reuben Fred Schmidt.
She is survived by her Brother, Grant John (Susan) Schmidt, her children, Samuel S (Michelle) Pendleton, Tami (Chad) Vernon, Becky Rae (Troy) Woodhouse and Amy Elizabeth (Jason) Winn. At the time of her passing, she had 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held at 11:00 AM, June 19th, at White Pine Funeral Home, 753 South 100 East in Logan Utah. Friends may call prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 am. She will be buried in the Logan City Cemetery next to her husband Sam.
