Ross Jay Stenquist

March 8, 1955 — May 21, 2025

Hyrum, Utah

On May 21st, Ross Stenquist (age 70) of Hyrum, Utah, returned to his heavenly home surrounded by his loved ones, due to an aggressive brain tumor. He lived a life marked by generosity, kindness, and a deep commitment to serving others and living the gospel of Jesus Christ. Ross was born in Ogden, Utah on March 8th, 1955 as the second son to Norris Jay and Ann Heath Stenquist.

Ross was known for his outgoing nature and warm spirit. He had a remarkable ability to bring people together and make everyone feel welcome. Whether hosting gatherings for friends and family or lending a helping hand to someone in need, Ross approached life with an open heart and a giving soul.

For Ross, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. As an Entrepreneur and jack of all trades, he would tackle all challenges head on.

He found joy in many pursuits—gardening brought him peace and connection to the earth; painting allowed him to express his creativity; skiing gave him adventure and exhilaration; horseback riding connected him to the outdoors, mountains, and animals; but above all else, he cherished time spent with family. His home was often filled with laughter, love, and the comforting presence of those he held dear.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ross served faithfully as both a teacher and counselor to many in the Wards and Branches he attended. His dedication to his faith was evident in the way he uplifted those around him and offered guidance with compassion.

Ross’s legacy is one of service and sincerity. He touched countless lives through his actions and example. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness in the world.

Ross was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Stenquist and many loving uncles, aunts, and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Heath Stenquist and his children: Jayson, Jessica Jo, Justin, Stephanie, Sylvia, and Heath Stenquist, along with 9 grandchildren, his father Norris Stenquist and his siblings–Dale, Suzann, and Lynn Stenquist.
