Rin Ouk

Rin Ouk, age 85, peacefully passed away at home on Monday, August 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving children and reunited with his beloved wife.

Rin was born on February 10, 1941, in Pom Prosid Sok Sumrouh Komlumjong Tat, Takeo, Cambodia. As a young child, he helped his family work on the farm. He was fortunate to have the opportunity to continue his education, eventually earning his certification as an electrician. Through his education, determination, and skill, Rin secured a position with the American Embassy in Cambodia. An intelligent and capable man, he spoke four languages.

In 1965, Rin married the love of his life, Kim Guek Ouk. Together, they built a life and raised six children. Rin was a strong and hardworking man who devoted his life to providing for and protecting his family.

To many, Rin was known for his stern and serious nature, but those closest to him knew another side. His wife and children knew him as a man who could also be funny, playful, and wonderfully silly. Behind his strength was a gentle and tender side that he shared with those he loved most.

Rin’s life was marked by perseverance, hard work, education, and an unwavering devotion to his family. His journey from Cambodia and the life he built in America are an enduring part of the legacy he leaves behind. His strength, wisdom, humor, and love will continue to live on through generations of his family.

Rin is survived by his six children: Chandara (Kanha), Sovann (Ivonne), Sotheary (Steve), Sambo (Katie), Vannary (Pheakdey), and Khemarind (Brittany); his nine grandchildren: Brandon, Matthew, Tiya, Bethany, Cecilee, Ethan, Bella, Anthony, and Leilani; and his three great-grandchildren: Oliver, Opal, and Brite.

His family will carry his memory with them, cherishing the lessons he taught, the stories he shared, the laughter he brought, and the many precious moments they were fortunate to share with him.

Rin will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all whose lives he touched.

Funeral Services:

The family will honor Rin’s life and legacy with a traditional Cambodian Ceremony, Funeral Service, and Burial on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

Cambodian Traditional Ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m. at 505 North 730 East Smithfield, Utah 84335

A viewing will be held at 1:30 p.m. at White Pine Funeral Home, 753 South 100 East. Logan, Utah 84321.Following the viewing, Rin's funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M.

The burial service will take place immediately following the funeral service at the Logan Cemetery, 1000 North 1200 East Logan, Utah 84321.
