Richard LeRoy Sullivan, 86, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Monday, April 20, 2026, at his home in Providence, UT. He spent his last day surrounded by his loving family.

Richard LeRoy Sullivan was born April 24, 1939, in Oakland, California to LeRoy (Roy) Edward Sullivan and Doris Emma Moulton. He grew up in California with 3 younger sisters, Carol, Beverly, and Janice. He married Roberta (Bobbi) Ann Chilcott on November 9, 1963. They were blessed with 3 beautiful children, Connie Lynn, Robert (Rob) Roy, and Christy Diann. They lived in California until 1975 when they relocated to Cache Valley, UT.

Richard grew up on the beaches of California with his large extended family. He served in the military in two branches as a Marine and in the Army. He was honorably discharged in May 1963. He married Bobbi later that same year. They lived in Bell Gardens, Whittier, San Jose, and Hayward, California. It was in San Jose that two stake missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints knocked on their door. Bobbi & Richard joined the church in 1973 and were later sealed in the Oakland, CA Temple on June 22, 1974. They moved to Cache Valley in 1975, where they lived in Amalga, UT. They have also lived in Brigham City, UT and Anderson Island, WA. He retired after many years at AutoLiv in 2007. He enjoyed retirement by serving a service mission at the Family History Library in Logan, UT. He served in church callings such as scouting, ward clerk, family history consultant, and many others. He also enjoyed volunteering at "The Farm" on Anderson Island, which is a community farm and historic site. He enjoyed visiting with people but most especially his posterity. He loved a good debate and was a kind and loving father and grandfather. He spent many hours hiking, watching movies and giving his time to his grandchildren/great-grandchildren. His favorite way was lovingly teasing them and he was up for whatever they wanted to do.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Bobbi, his three children, Connie Bodily (Michael) of Millville, UT, Rob Sullivan (Denise) of East Greenwich, RI and Christy Barthlome (Layne) of Preston, ID, his sister Beverly Rouelle (Robert) of Logan, UT.
