Penny Larsen

April 8, 1946 — August 17, 2025

Wellsville, Utah

Penny Larsen passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025. She was born April 8, 1946, in Logan, Utah. She was the youngest daughter of Lloyd and Arlene Larsen of Hyrum. Her brother was Burke (Rosalyn), and her sisters were Dixie (Ed) Payne, and Tama (Lynn) Mathews.

Penny grew up in Hyrum, attending Lincoln Elementary and South Cache High. She was blessed with an incredible singing talent. Her fondest memories are performing in high school musicals. This led to a music scholarship at Utah State University. Penny was often called on during her life to share her musical gift. She attended Hollywood Beauty College and was a talented stylist.

Penny married Kent Larsen of Wellsville, and they were sealed in the Logan Utah Temple. They are the parents of three sons: Chris (Kristy), Tyler (Margaret), and Chad (Naomi). Penny loves her nine grandchildren: Cache, Conner, Kelsey, Keaton, Jessie, Jenna, Kaitlyn, Hailey, and Tom. She is a 'great' grandma to Gray, Murphy Jean, McKray, and Swayzie.

Penny supported Kent in his career and lived in Westwood California, Randolph Utah, Apia Samoa, Blackfoot Idaho, and Heber City Utah. She had a great love for people, making many friends wherever she went. Her outgoing personality led to charitable service to family, church, and community. Penny fulfilled many church callings and served in the Logan Temple.

Early in their lives together, Kent and Penny lived in Samoa for three years with Church Schools, and after retirement, served in a two year mission. Penny enjoyed serving the church and saints of Samoa. She has a firm testimony of the Savior and His atonement. He has been by her side during the challenges over the past few years.

Penny was a homemaker, caring for her family and others. She supported her sons with their sports, schooling, and missions. Penny was "The Bread Lady" making homemade bread every week and sharing it with others. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, serving as an instructor and officer, and earned a 50 year award.

Special appreciation to the outstanding staff at Blacksmith Fork Assisted Living. She loves each one individually for their tender care, service, and true charity.
