Oralee Gunnell Frank

Oralee Gunnell Frank, 86, passed away at her home in Providence on October 2, 2026.

Oralee was born July 18, 1940 in Wellsville, Utah, the second of four children of Alton Mitton and Carrie Marie Smith Gunnell.

Oralee grew up in Wellsville where she attended Floradell Elementary and Wellsville Junior High School. She worked on the family farms hauling hay, picking beans and topping beets. She was active in many school activities, played basketball and softball and loved spending time with friends and cousins.

Oralee graduated from South Cache High School in Hyrum, Utah in 1958, where she was active in student council and sports. While there she met her eternal sweetheart, Louis Frank. They later married on August 1, 1959, in the Logan Temple. Louis and Oralee made their home in Providence for 65 years.

Throughout the years Oralee worked at Thiokol, Watkins Printing and for Cache County and Logan School Districts. She retired in 2005. She loved working with her hands whether it was cooking, sewing, crocheting, preserving produce from her garden or making goodies that she loved to share with others. The greatest joy of her life was becoming a mother to Kelly, Craig, Mark and Jamie and then a grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and supporting them at their sporting and community events.

An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Oralee faithfully attended the Providence 1st Ward, where she served for many years in various positions.

Oralee was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Louis Frank, her parents, Alton and Marie Gunnell, and her sister, LaDaun Brenchley.

She is survived by her children Kelly (James) Cattanach, Craig (Diane) Frank, Mark (Marla) Frank and Jamie (Roger) Roundy, 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two siblings, Marilyn Dahle and Lynn (Karin) Gunnell.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., with a viewing held before the funeral service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at White Pine Funeral Services, 753 South 100 East, Logan, Utah. Interment will be in the Providence Cemetery.
