On June 18, Nolen Gene Brown passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 23rd 1931 in Rupert Idaho. He is reunited with his beloved wife, Jolene Dahle, who passed away in July of 2020, after over 72 years of marriage. He is also reunited with his two dogs who meant so much to them, Morgan and Toby.
Nolen (Buzz) is survived by his three children, Steven Brown (Judy), Vicki Brown (Richard), and Jodi Simpson (Michael), 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and his 2 dogs (Molly and Suzie) whom he loved dearly.
Nolen spent his life working as a master electrician, starting out at Boeing in Seattle Washington. Over the years he also worked on many construction projects and spent many years working at the Nevada Test site where he supervised the wiring of atomic weapons that were being tested underground. He also owned an electrical construction company that completed many commercial projects including many LDS church buildings.
Nolen was an entrepreneur and always had a “project” that he was working on, right up to the very end of his life. Numerous times he enlisted the grandkids to help on projects. He started and owned many companies including movie theatres, service stations, motels, mobile home parks, restaurants and many other ventures.
In his teenage years, he worked with his father bringing movie entertainment to rural Utah and Idaho in the 1940’s. His favorite locations were the rural Indian reservations. He had a very impressive collection of silver dollars and other coins.
Nolen had many distinguished pioneer ancestors that were active in settling Utah and Idaho and establishing LDS communities. Over the years, Nolen was blessed with a large family, health, prosperity, and a strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ. His family and friends loved him immensely and he will be greatly missed.
A special thanks to Erin, Dennis, Craig and the entire team at Sunshine Hospice, as well as Narin from Assisting Hands for their tender, loving care and support!
