Nansi Reese Roylance, of Smithfield, Utah, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026—the day before her birthday—at the Legacy House Assisted Living in Logan, Utah, due to complications from an accidental fall.
Nansi was born on January 30, 1940, to Bert D. Reese and Eve Jarvis Reese. She was raised on the family farm in Benson, Utah, where she developed a lifelong love for animals, especially horses and dogs. Her favorite horse, Big Red, brought her many years of enjoyment through horseback riding.
Nansi graduated from North Cache High School in 1958. She enjoyed playing softball and dancing, interests that remained close to her heart throughout her life.
Throughout her working years, Nansi held various positions, including employment at Low Cost Drug, Mountain Bell, and Smithfield Implement. She also managed and operated R & R Hardware in Tremonton. In addition, she shared her love of dance by teaching for many years.
Nansi was married to Ralph Roylance for 54 years.
She is survived by her children, Bret Mack (Jodie) and Bart Roylance (Julie); her siblings, Darren Reese (Melva), Tommy Reese (Dixie), and Mike Reese (Anne); four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Eve Reese, and her husband, Ralph Roylance.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff at Logan Regional Hospital, the Legacy House of Logan, and the Hospice team for their compassionate care and for providing comfort to our mother. A special thank you to nurses Wendy, Jamie, Kellianne, and Pam Seamons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society.
