Merlyn Gene Burdick, 88, died Monday, January 29, 2024 at Maple Springs Nursing Home in North Logan, Utah.
Merlyn was born on November 9, 1935 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to Harry and Frances Burdick. While serving in the U.S. Navy, he met his future wife, Helen Malander, and they were married in New Jersey on October 14, 1961. After leaving the service, he brought Helen home to Roy, Utah and then to Richmond, Utah where they remained.
Merlyn was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his nephew, Ron Burdick of Michigan, a niece, Mary Beth Sebby of Minnesota, a special great nephew, Paul Burdick of Alaska, a great niece, Heather Gooch-Lowden of Idaho, and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen, his parents, his 3 brothers, Dayle, Wayne, and Keyth, his sister, Arlys, and his special niece, Linda.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at White Pine Funeral Services, 753 S. 100 E. Logan, UT.
At Merlyn’s request, there will be no formal service.
Interment will be Wednesday, February 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. Ogden, UT, with Military Honors.
