Mary Beth Nelson

On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, Mary Beth Wahlen Nelson, 98, passed from this life for a joyful reunion with her husband, Keith, ending 33 years of missing him and joining him and other loved ones who had gone before. She spent her last 6 years residing at Williamsburg Retirement Community in Logan, Utah.

Her family was the joy and purpose of her life, and that joy included happiness and pride in the successes and accomplishments of her husband, children, and grandchildren. As each of her children married, she welcomed their spouses into her family as additional sons and daughters, rejoicing in each grandchild and great-grandchild who entered her life.

Mary was born in Logan, Utah, on May 25, 1928, to Frank and Veda Wahlen, the youngest of four children. Mary was born at home with her mother acting as midwife with the help of her older sisters, Margaret and Helen.

Mary attended Logan schools, including Woodruff Elementary, Logan Junior High on Federal Avenue, and Logan High School. She married Keith Nelson at age 19 and became a loving homemaker, raising their five children in the beautiful home she and Keith built in Logan.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. Her marriage to Keith was sealed in the Logan Temple for time and all eternity, and later in life, they served together as Logan Temple workers.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; her parents; all of her siblings; her daughter, Kristine Albretsen; and her granddaughters, Angela Nelson and Kimberly Nelson.

The Nelson family will have a private funeral service to honor Mary. The interment will be in the Logan Cemetery.
