Marilyn passed away on 31 December 2025, returning to her heavenly home with family at her bedside, of natural causes. She was born on 10 January 1928 in Murray, Utah, to George Leland Olson and Lois Etta Williams. Her Father was murdered when she was 10 years old, and she is now reunited with her mother, father, brother, son, and 3 granddaughters who preceded her in death.
She was very independent in her youth, as her mother had to work to support the family. She married Frank Boyer Salisbury in the Salt Lake Temple in 1949, and they had seven children. She had an adventurous life living in Salt Lake, Pasadena, California, Fort Collins, Colorado, and North Logan, Utah. She lived in Germany/Austria (1963) and Austria/Jerusalem (1983) while Frank was on sabbatical, enjoying unique experiences with the family. She was divorced from Frank in 1991 and married Wendell Pope in 1994. They had a cabin in Star Valley, Wyoming, which the family fondly remembers.
Marilyn was an amazing person and mother. She lived life fully enjoying drama, singing, painting in her later years, Red Hatters, book clubs, and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In her mid-life years, she traveled extensively with her husband Frank, visiting multiple continents and countries. She set an example for her children of repentance and gospel living, and served with Wendell in the New York South mission from 1995 to 1997. She had the opportunity to live in Israel and traveled extensively to Japan and China when her children lived there. Her life was very full. She faded in the last few years, with her daughters playing caregiver roles. Her last years were spent in the Cottage at Logan Legacy House.
She expressed gratitude to her Savior throughout her life, recognizing the miracle of forgiveness and The Restoration. She has left a legacy for children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to admire. We are happy she has moved on to better things.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Salisbury, a son, Phillip, three granddaughters, Kathleen, Michelle, and Tyra. She is survived by Wendall, with 31 years of marriage, her children Frank Clark (Sharon M), Steven (Sharon L), Michael (Tami), Cynthia, Rebecca, and Blake (Laura). She has 22 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. The family would like to express thanks to Cindy and Becky, who lovingly cared for their mother, and to Logan Legacy House, and especially to Holly, her nurse, with CNS Hospice.
