Lynn Reaves Hulse

July 28, 1962 — October 15, 2025

River Heights, Utah

Lynn Reaves Hulse, age 63, returned home to his loving Heavenly Father on Wednesday October 15, 2025 surrounded by his family, from complications following a major medical event.

Lynn was born in Monrovia, CA. on July 28, 1962 to Vernon (deceased) & Betty Hulse.

Lynn has one brother Russel (Ann) Hulse and one sister Sandy (Mike) Colbath. Lynn had many fond memories of his childhood in California.

When Lynn was a young teenager, they moved to the family farm in Ririe, Idaho. Lynn participated in several sports in high school, including track and wrestling.

Lynn met his wife Teri while working together at Grand Central in Idaho Falls in October 1980. Lynn was telling everyone they were getting married after their first date and Teri wasn’t even sure she liked him. They dated for a few months and married on July 2,1981. They were later sealed in the LDS Temple. They welcomed their first child, a daughter Nikki (Gene) Justo in December 1982. Their son Ryan (Kara) Hulse was born in February 1985. Daughter Whitney (Kelly) Johnson was born in July 1986 completing their family.

Lynn and Teri re-located their family to Logan Utah in 1987 where they made their permanent home in River Heights in 1992.

Lynn held many jobs throughout his life. He was a truck driver, meat cutter, driver trainer and heavy equipment operator. Lynn was above all else a mechanic spending the majority of his time repairing vehicles. Lynn could fix any thing and he accumulated many, many “projects”. The saying “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure” fits Lynn perfectly. He also loved accumulating tools and believed there was a proper tool for every job and it was best to have several of each “in case one broke or got lost”

Lynn’s most cherished role in life was being a Grandpa. He loved teaching his grandsons Memphis, Taylor, Hunter, Logan and Jack how to build and fix engines and motors. Anything they were interested in he was interested in, helping with science projects, motorcycles, go carts, cars, rock hounding, fishing, shooting guns, leather work, and trains. He cherished his sweet granddaughters Hailee, Lily, Emma and Finnley. He would play “Witch Doctor” and other fun music really loud and the girls would go crazy dancing around the living room. He enjoyed going to soccer games and softball games often encouraging the girls to “kick em in the knee” promptly receiving a punch in the arm from Teri. He would get on the floor and play Dollhouse, eat pretend food often made from a big box of Legos, hold dolls and make popcorn.

They all loved playing pirate with him and getting his famous “monkey hugs.”

The role that defined who Lynn was for many years was playing Santa Claus. Lynn was made to be “Santa”. He loved to create the “magic” that is Santa Claus paying meticulous attention to all the little details. Kids knew he was Santa even in street clothes and he always had candy canes, Santa coins or cards with his picture on them to give to kids in restaurants and stores and you could often spot him bending down taking a “list”. He carried a Santa drivers license and when the cashier asked his name he would flip the card out and proudly proclaim I’m Santa.

He will be missed by his family and friends very much.
