Louis Seth Frank

January 10, 1939 — April 27, 2026

Providence, Utah

Louis Seth Frank passed away peacefully at his home in Providence on April 27, 2026.

Louis was born January 10, 1939, in Providence, Utah, to Seth Clinton and Grace Emily Astle Frank. He was the fourth of seven children.

Louis spent his youth in Providence and Mendon, where he worked on the family farms. He loved the outdoors, playing sports, hunting, camping, and spending time with his many cousins and friends.

Louis graduated from South Cache High School in Hyrum, Utah in 1957. He was active in sports, playing football, basketball, and baseball. During high school, he met his eternal sweetheart, Oralee Gunnell. They later married on August 1, 1959, in the Logan Temple. Louis and Oralee made their home in Providence, where they raised four children.

In 1958, he went into business with his dad at the Seth C. Frank and Sons Concrete Construction Company. In 1972, he sold the business and went to work for LeGrand Johnson Construction Company. In June 1986, he made a job change and went to work for the City of Logan, where he worked until his retirement in 2004.

An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Louis faithfully attended the Providence 1st Ward, where he served for many years in various positions. He loved the Lord, and his example of quiet faith will continue to guide his family.

Louis was an outdoor enthusiast. He loved spending time in the mountains. His favorite activities were snowmobiling, four wheeling, hunting, and fishing. He also spent time racing homing pigeons and running his hounds while hunting mountain lions. A true perfectionist, he took great pride in maintaining a pristine yard and garden. Louis deeply loved his family and showed his love through a lifetime of quiet, diligent service. He enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren at their sporting and community events.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Seth and Grace Frank, and his sisters Lauretta Tanner and Collene Ashe.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Oralee Frank, and his children Kelly (James) Cattanach, Craig (Diane) Frank, Mark (Marla) Frank and Jamie (Roger) Roundy. He and Oralee also have 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four siblings, Yvonne Wright, Brent (Sandra) Frank, Effie Wilhelm, and Charlene Knighton.

Louis’s dry sense of humor and the way he teased those he loved will be deeply missed.
