Larry Wallace Liljenquist passed away on May 30, 2026, on his 89th birthday, from a fall that left his brain bleeding. Larry was born on May 30, 1937, in Hyrum, Utah to Lawrence Harold Liljenquist and Edith Stella Albertsen in a small hospital that was on main street in Hyrum. At a young age of 13, Larry got polio and was in an iron lung for a year. It never slowed him down. Larry had 3 sisters, Linda (Larry) Peterson, Diane (Scott) Ryan, and Shelley Sellars. He also had 3 brothers, Dan (deceased), Scott (deceased), and Roger.
Larry married Charlene Hoth on February 6, 1959, in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They just celebrated 57 years of marriage in 2016 before Charlene passed away. Larry and Charlene had 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls: Brent (deceased), Andy (deceased), he has three living children: Leisa (Tracy) Hulse, Laraine (Phillip) Rawlins, and Mark.
Larry held numerous jobs in the valley from 1960 to 1970. Larry worked as a dispatcher at Thiokol promontory point from 1970 to 1974, and also at Logan City Police Department from 1974 to 1987. Larry worked at the Cache County sheriff’s office, where he was well known for his deep voice. Larry also worked at EA Miller's as a security director from 1987 to 1989. Later in life, he painted houses all over the valley. Larry was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. Larry was a jokester who loved his family fiercely. He had a passion for fishing and taking grandkids and great grandkids fishing. He leaves a legacy of 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Dad will always be remembered as a great family man, the best grandpa, and the best great grandpa. We love you, Dad. We know that you are in Charlene’s arms.
A graveside service for Larry will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the Paradise City Cemetery, 8940 S 340 E, Paradise, UT. A viewing will be held before the graveside service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at White Pine Funeral Services, 753 S 100 E, Logan, UT.
