June Olpin Anderson, age 84, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on November 13, 2025, in Nibley, Utah. She was born on June 16, 1941, in Heber City, Utah, as the youngest of 9 children, to Joseph Olpin and Svea Emerensia Violet (Larsson) Olpin.
June lived a life of service, faith, and compassion. She served a mission in New Zealand for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, an experience that deeply influenced her love for her Savior, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and others. She went on to attend Brigham Young University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and began her neurosurgical nursing career at LDS Hospital, where she became head nurse in just 6 months.
In 1970, June and her family moved to Denver, Colorado, where she continued her work as a neuronurse at Presbyterian St. Luke’s before serving patients at Swedish Medical Center, where she completed her 30 year nursing career. Her gentle spirit and caring hands touched many lives.
On June 30, 1967, June married her eternal companion, Hardy Anderson, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they raised five children: Jay (Heather) Anderson, Jeff (Brenda) Anderson, Jill (Mark) Aldrich, Joel (Natalie) Anderson, Hal (Leigh) Anderson, as well as Norie Tanaka, who was like a daughter to her.
She was a beloved grandmother to 33 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to 15 great-grandchildren.
June found joy in traveling, crocheting, and spending time with family. She also loved collecting owls and angels, which reflected her gentle, watchful, and hopeful nature. Her greatest interest and passion was connecting with, serving, and loving other people.
She is survived by her husband Hardy, her children and their spouses, her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sister Clara, and other family and friends who loved her deeply. She was preceded in death by 7 of her 8 siblings.
