John Wesley Robbins Jr., affectionately known as "Johnnie," passed away on June 1, 2025, at his home in Providence, Utah, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on May 20, 1939, in Vernal, Utah, Johnnie's life was characterized by his unwavering dedication to family, personal integrity, and a joy for life that resonated with everyone who knew him.
After graduating from Uintah High School, where he excelled both academically and athletically as the captain of the football team, Johnnie pursued an associate's degree in accounting from Stevens-Henager College. His professional journey included a successful partnership at a tax firm, a role that showcased his skills and expertise in the field. His dedication to his work led him to a fulfilling position as an accountant at the Alpine School District, where he proudly served until his retirement in 2005. In addition to his accounting career, his passion for automobiles inspired him to establish a Jeep dealership, further reflecting his entrepreneurial spirit.
A veteran of the Army National Guard, Johnnie enlisted at the young age of 17 and served for eight years, including a year of active duty at Fort Lewis, Washington. This experience was a testament to his commitment to serving his country and shaping the character that would define his life.
Johnnie's personality shone brightly through his tough yet tender-hearted demeanor. He was known for his jovial sense of humor and his generous spirit, always aiming to be remembered as a kind and happy person. His capacity for forgiveness and his ability to let go of grudges further endeared him to friends and family alike.
Family was at the heart of Johnnie’s life, with cherished memories of family vacations, camping, boating, and time spent at the Bear Lake cabin that he and his family built together. He took immense pride in being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His beloved wife, Brenda Rex Robbins, stood by him through many life adventures, including their service as active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where they shared their faith while serving three different missions in Fiji, Temple Square, and Kirtland, Ohio.
He is survived by his seven children and their spouses: Jeff (Cristal), Greg, Spencer (Jenny), Camille (Wally), Myrick (Rachael), Natalie (Kent), and Russell (Kristee). Johnnie also leaves behind a remarkable legacy through his 26 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, with two additional great-grandchildren on the way.
