Jeri Lynne Sorensen

June 24, 1982 — October 14, 2025

Providence, Utah

Jeri Lynne Sorensen, age 43, of Providence, returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on October 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 24, 1982, to Bart and Judy Weston—the youngest of five children and a bright light from the very start.

Although Jeri faced health challenges throughout her life, she met them with courage, optimism, and a radiant smile. Her joyful spirit and unwavering positivity inspired everyone who knew her. Jeri lived each day with enthusiasm and gratitude, finding laughter and love in the simplest of moments.

Music was one of Jeri’s greatest passions. When she was young she was part of a youth singing group which she really enjoyed. One of her favorite songs she would often sing around the house was “I’m a Mormon, Yes My Am”(Yes I am). She loved harmonizing with her dad in church meetings and talent shows, music filled her soul. Whether performing with the LDS Institute and Utah State Choir or singing along with her favorite songs at home, Jeri’s voice and laughter lifted every room she entered. Her playful spirit shone through at girls’ camp, especially during the famous “Tutti Ta,” where she would dissolve into giggles before the song ever ended.

Jeri loved spending time with family and had a knack for turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. She was always up for a card game (and maybe a little harmless cheating to win!), a girls’ trip full of laughter, or spontaneous silliness—like sneaking bunny ears into every photo. Her famous saying, “I’m normal for me,” became a beloved family motto that perfectly captured her one-of-a-kind personality.

Jeri’s love extended to all of God’s creations, especially animals. She adored her stuffed animal collection and her cabinet full of Precious Moments figurines. Her dogs were her babies, spoiled with affection and treated like family.

Her sense of humor was legendary. Whether giving her siblings playful “noogies” or claiming her rightful spot in the recliner with her favorite saying, “On your feet, lose your seat,” Jeri kept everyone smiling. She loved deeply and openly—never afraid to offer a hug, lean on a shoulder, or express affection. Her warmth was genuine and boundless.

Education was important to Jeri. A proud graduate of Mountain Crest High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Childhood Development from Ashford University in 2016. She devoted much of her career to caring for others, working at BRASK with disabled adults—a job she cherished deeply—as well as with Deseret Industries and several preschools. Her compassion and kindness touched countless lives.

The greatest joy of Jeri’s life came when she met Brian Dean Sorensen on September 23, 2019. They shared an instant connection and a beautiful love story. They married exactly four years later, on September 23, 2023. Together, they built a life full of laughter, companionship, movie nights, and their “family” of beloved stuffed animals. Brian was her soulmate and her safe place; with him, Jeri was her happiest self.

Those who knew Jeri will forever remember her gentle heart, her contagious laughter, and her ability to make everyone feel seen and loved. She never sought the spotlight but always brought light to those around her.

Jeri is survived by her devoted husband, Brian Sorensen; her loving parents, Bart and Judy Weston; her brothers, Alan (Colette) Weston and Brian Weston; her sisters, Nancy Sandberg and Chrissy (Scott) Stettler; and her many nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Jeri. Her life was a song of love, laughter, and faith—one that will echo forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
