Celebrating the Life of Gioia Maria Beatrice Scafi Durazzani, 84
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Gioia, returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on June 24th, 2025, at the age of 84 in North Logan, Utah, surrounded by her children and grandchildren who now miss her deeply.
Born in Milano, Italy, to Romilda Salvagnini and Raffaele Scafi, Gioia faced deep loss early in life, losing both her parents by the age of 16. In those tender years, she learned to trust in the Lord—a foundation that guided her through every season of life.
One of the most defining moments of Gioia’s journey was joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That decision deepened her devotion to the Savior and inspired her to dedicate her life to serving others with unwavering love and faith.
Gioia lived what she believed—fully, joyfully, and without hesitation. She was not just a woman of faith; she was a woman of action. Whether it was caring for someone in need, lifting a heavy burden, or simply offering her radiant smile and a kind word, Gioia’s love was something you could feel in motion. She didn’t just talk about service—she lived it.
She was cheerful, warm, and full of light—her joy was contagious and a gift to all who knew her. Her faith in the restored gospel was constant, and she shared her testimony with quiet confidence and genuine love.
Above all, Gioia loved her family. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy, and they always knew they were loved—completely and unconditionally.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith, joy, action, and grace—a legacy her family will continue to carry forward.
Her family will gather privately to honor her life. To all her dear friends—please know she loved you, prayed for you, and held you in her heart. Her kindness, faith, and smile will continue to live on in the lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, please share stories, memories, and pictures below. They will be immensely appreciated.
