Obituary

Franklin Lavon Murphy, age 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 19, 2026, in Millville, Utah. Frank was born on February 9, 1942, in Hailey, Idaho, to Alta Peck. As a young child, he moved with his mother to Salt Lake City. Frank attended Cyprus High school where met the love of his life, Una Wilde. They were married on August 29, 1959. Frank later attended school and received his GED.

In 1970, Frank moved his family to Millville, Utah, where he and Una established a family farm. Frank was a man of tireless work ethic, balancing the demands of a farm—where he and Una worked side-by-side milking cows—along with a 32-year career as a USDA Meat Inspector.

In his later years, Frank and Una discovered a passion for restoring vintage cars. Frank mastered the engine, bodywork, and painting, while Una meticulously handled the upholstery. Their collaborative work was a staple at the Cache Valley Car Show for many years. One of his projects was restoring Una's Fathers 1948 Ford.

For the past decade, Frank’s daily ritual included a visit to the Millville Cemetery to be near Una. She was his rock, his best friend, and his reason for living. His family finds great comfort in knowing they are finally reunited. We are certain the reunion in Heaven was glorious.

Frank is survived by his four children: Dean (Melanie) Murphy, Debra Glenn, Dedee (Robert) Blanchard, Dianna (Dennis) Smith. He also leaves behind a legacy of 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Una; his mother, Alta Peck; his brother, Stan; and one grandchild; and 1 great grandchild.
