In Loving Memory of Evelyn Irene Jett
Evelyn Irene Jett, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, at the age of 76. She was born on May 2, 1950.
Evelyn shared 60 years of marriage with the love of her life, David Lee Jett Sr. Together, they built a life and a family filled with love, laughter, memories, and countless moments that will be cherished forever.
Evelyn devoted the early years of her life to raising her son, David. She was a loving and dedicated stay-at-home mother until he graduated from high school. She then began a career as a preschool and early elementary school teacher, where her caring nature and love for children made a lasting impact on the many young lives she touched.
In 2019, Evelyn and David retired and moved from California to Utah. She embraced this new chapter of life with the same warmth and enthusiasm that she brought to everything she did.
Evelyn was fun-loving, thoughtful, caring, and deeply devoted to her family. She had a way of making people feel welcome and loved. And once you became her friend, you were a friend for life. She loved to laugh, she loved being around the people she cared about, and most of all, she loved her family.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 60 years, David Lee Jett Sr.; her son, David Lee Jett Jr. and his wife, Cynthia Dae Jett; her granddaughters, Jessica Rae Sotelo and her husband, Hector Sotelo, and Brooke Aaron Mullen and her husband, Jesse Mullen; and her five great-grandchildren, Ava, Jackson, Claire, Lucille, and Amelia.
Her family was her greatest accomplishment and her greatest joy. She leaves behind not only the people she loved, but the love she gave them—a love that will continue through every generation that follows her.
Evelyn loved life. Even through years of serious health challenges, she continued to fight, showing the strength, determination, and spirit that defined her. She fought until the very end.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Her life was a gift. Her love was a legacy. And her memory will live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know her.
A funeral service for Evelyn will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 12:00 noon at White Pine Funeral Services, 753 S 100 E, Logan, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the funeral home. The interment will be at the Providence City Cemetery.
