Ernest "Ernie" C. Blanton

Ernest was born in Silva, NC. The family moved to Mt. Vernon, WA in 1947, where he worked at a dairy farm at 14; and at age 16 worked at a concrete plant. He married his love, Betty Self in 1953. First making their home in Prineville and then Bend, where he worked at Brooks Scanlon and eventually retiring from Willamette Industries. Ernest also was a volunteer firefighter for the City of Bend for over 20 years. He leaves behind many who loved him. 
A graveside service will be held June 16, 2023 at Deschutes Memorial Gardens. Donations can be made in his name to Band of Brothers, c/o 2210 NE Hwy 20, Bend, OR 97701.
