Della returned to her heavenly home after just 10 beautiful weeks of life. During her short time on Earth, Della showed us many miracles and deeply strengthened our faith.
Before her birth, Della was diagnosed with a fatal condition and was expected to pass away early in her development. Despite being told she had no chance of survival, we prayed for the opportunity to meet her and hold her. After months of prayerful waiting, we learned that her fatal condition had miraculously resolved. While there were new concerns about a heart defect, we had renewed hope that Della would be born into our family after all. All our prayers were answered when Della joined us on Earth on May 16, 2025. We were overjoyed to learn that her heart defect was deemed very mild and unlikely to require any treatment throughout her life.
For the next two months, we truly felt her presence in our home was angelic. From the beginning, she brought a special spirit to our family unlike any feeling we had experienced before. Throughout our time with her, we felt subtly and inexplicably that she was close to heaven. This was confirmed to us when she was called home to heaven unexpectedly. Her heart was more sick than anyone had realized, and Della passed peacefully in our arms on July 25, 2025.
We are eternally grateful that God granted us the miracle of Della’s time on Earth. She taught us that miracles are very real and truly showed us more miracles than we can count. Della has deepened our faith and brought us closer to Jesus Christ than ever before. She has changed our hearts forever. Parting with her is heartbreaking, but Della showed us how to live a happy life even with a broken heart. We are so comforted and excited to know that we have Della for eternity. We can’t wait to see her again and learn about the amazing things she has been called to do on the other side!
Della is survived by her parents: Brennan and Natalie Baer, her sisters: Eve, Georgia, and Gwen, her grandparents: Jeremy and Natalie Baer and Joseph and Sandra Larkin, as well as her aunts, uncles, cousins, and great-grandparents.
