Our dear mother, sister, daughter, wife and kind friend, Clarice Higbee, transitioned into the next life on May 27, 2025. She was just a few months shy of her 90th birthday. She’s not one to miss out on a celebration, so we know she’ll be near as we remember her life and celebrate her legacy.
Mom was thoughtful and always willing to share anything she could offer. She crocheted hundreds of pairs of hot pads, and chances are high that if you met her, you have some in your kitchen. You may also have some of her ceramics or beaded temples. She loved staying busy with crafty hobbies. She loved it when family visited and was excited to hear about the kids’ and grandkids extracurricular activities. She loved to play pool and would often challenge her grandchildren to a competitive game. She never missed sending birthday cards or letting us know what was going on with other family members. Mom had a tender heart and felt things deeply. She served in the temple for years and was a covenant keeper.
Mom would regularly share stories of her childhood and growing up in Logan. She cherished her relationships with her sister, cousins and friends. She grew up without TV, telephone, or a car but loved playing night games, playing in the sprinklers, ice skating, volleyball and hockey. She loved spending time with her parents, even when it meant mowing the lawn, weeding the garden, doing dishes and cleaning the house.
Mom is a proud Utah State University graduate (Physical Education) and lifelong Aggie. She especially loved cheering on her Aggies in basketball and often times could not go to sleep at night until she confirmed the final score of an exciting game.
Mom and dad were able to serve two missions in the Rochester New York area and loved serving others. Dad passed away almost 9 years ago but we imagine that he was beyond ready to be reunited with his eternal companion, golf partner and fishing buddy. What a reunion mom is having with her eternal companion, her sister Ila Dean Caldwell, and other loved ones who have passed. We are grateful for God’s plan and to know that mom will be there with a pile of hot pads in hand when we see her again 💞.
We love you and will miss you mom!
