Centhia June Hallberg Preece, 76, went home to be with Heavenly Father on March 30, 2026. She passed peacefully in her sleep while at her home in North Logan.
Centhia, also known as Cendy, was born on March 14, 1950, to Roy Hallberg and Cora Stokes. Cendy was the second of 6 children and was raised in Hyrum, Utah, by her mother and stepfather, Fracis Stokes. Cendy graduated from Sky View High School in 1968.
Cendy married Kim Mortensen on July 10, 1968, for a brief period. While married, Cendy and Kim had 2 children, Andrew Mortensen and Stephanie Mortensen. Cendy later met and married George Preece on November 23, 1984, and was later sealed for all eternity in the Logan Temple. Cendy had 3 children with George: Trevor Preece, Terrill Preece (Katie), and Tracy Preece (Christyn).
Her favorite things to do were sitting back to relax with her Hallmark Channel, novels, and old country classics. She was always dancing around. Cendy loved going out with the ladies for their weekly lunches, taking long drives, and spending time with her family.
Cendy is survived by her loving children, 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Judy Stokes (Randy), Roger Stokes, and Todd Stokes (Diane). Cendy is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Hallberg, Cora Stokes, and her stepfather, Francis Stokes. Cendy is preceded in death by her siblings Corlene “Teen” Rouse and Edgar Hallberg.
The viewing and funeral will be on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the North Logan Stake Center, located at 2750 North 800 East in North Logan. The viewing will be held from 10:00-11:30 am, and the funeral services will be at noon. Following the funeral service, the interment will take place at the cemetery in Franklin, Idaho, just off Highway 89 at 5400 South.
Following the graveside service, a luncheon will be held for family and friends at the North Logan Stake Center, 2750 North 800 East in North Logan.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice workers, White Pine Funeral Home, and to all those who have offered love, support, and service during this time. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
