Brian Dean Sorensen

Jun 5, 1975 — Oct 19, 2026

Providence, Utah

Brian Dean Sorensen was born on June 5, 1975, in Layton, Utah, to Lynn and Vicki Sorensen. He passed away on October 19, 2026, at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah.

At the age of 10, Brian was involved in an automobile accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Despite the challenges he faced, Brian lived a life filled with creativity, friendship, and love.

Brian was incredibly talented and enjoyed working with his hands. He was very artistic and spent countless hours creating detailed airplanes, semi-trucks, and other vehicles using popsicle sticks and tongue depressors. He also enjoyed putting together intricate laser-cut puzzles.

One of Brian's greatest gifts was his ability to make friends wherever he went. He was naturally outgoing and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He often enjoyed going on "walks" around his neighborhood in his wheelchair, stopping along the way to visit with neighbors and meet new people. Brian had a genuine love for people, and those who knew him often said he didn't have a mean bone in his body. His kindness and friendly personality made it easy for others to feel comfortable around him.

In 2019, Brian met Jeri Weston, and the two shared an instant connection. They became engaged on January 20, 2020, and were married on September 23, 2023. Together, Brian and Jeri built a life full of love and companionship. They lived in Harrisville and later at Providence Place in Providence, Utah, where they made many wonderful friendships. They enjoyed spending time together playing card games and board games and shared a special love for their family of stuffed animals.

Brian will be remembered for his kind heart, his creativity, and especially his ability to make everyone he met feel like a friend.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeri Lynne (Weston) Sorensen; his mother, Vicki Lynn (Burr) Sorensen; and his grandparents on both sides.

He is survived by his father, Lynn G. Sorensen; his father- and mother-in-law, Bart and Judy Weston; two sisters; and one brother.
