On July 21, 2024, at the age of 83, Blaine Joseph Field passed away in his home in North Logan, Utah.
Blaine was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on July 5, 1941, to Ellis Joseph Field and Alice Sophia Poulsen. He grew up in Grant, Idaho, and began helping on the family farm from an early age. He learned to work hard but also found ways to have fun. After graduating from Rigby High School in 1959, Blaine attend Ricks College for a year before serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Western States Mission from 1960-1962.
On January 29, 1964, he married Norene Hodgkinson in the Salt Lake Temple and together they raised three sons--Corey (Janelle) Field of Cody, Wyoming, Clint (Lorinda) Field of North Logan, Utah, and Cameron (Angie) Field of Denver, Colorado--while living in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Blaine worked at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory as a Radiation Safety Technician for more than 30 years and served as a Sheriff's Reserve officer for Bonneville County for a time. Outside of work he spent time tending to yard work, serving in church callings (including many years in Scouting), and enjoying camping trips with the family (with the Challis, Idaho, area and Yellowstone National Park being some of their favorite destinations).
Blaine is survived by his sister, ReNae French, his sons and their spouses, 13 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Blaine was preceded in death by his wife, Norene Hodgkinson; parents, Ellis and Alice Field; and his brother Larry Field.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 11 a.m., at the Grant Central Cemetery, 154 N 3300 E, Rigby, ID. Interment will be in the Grant Central Cemetery.
